Kampot

A lovely little city in the south of Cambodia where you can visit different plantations and salt fields. Discover the local way of living and working, enjoy some amazing food and love the beautiful nature areas around the city.

Bokor national park

If you have multiple days you should definitely visit Bokor National Park. Rent your own scooter and start driving for around 15 minutes to enter the park. Entrance is free so why not check out the beautiful nature of Kampot. The whole drive from beginning till the top takes you around a hour and you will pass some places with monkeys so be aware, they can be on the road so don't try to hit them. When you reach the top you can go to different sightseeing places. There is an old French village you can visit, a temple, a waterfall and a huge 5 star hotel which looks abandoned but actually isn't. Just don't forget to enjoy the view from the top because it is magnificent.

After the national park you can drive around Kampot to see the many salt fields, but if you would like to know a bit about it I would recommend you to book a tour to the pepper plantation and the salt fields. You can book it through your hostel or find one online but definitely worth your money.

Lemongrass restaurant

Unfortunately Kampot was just a one day stop but I still found an amazing place for food. Lemongrass restaurant which is located on less then 5 minutes walk from Onederz hostel and has the most delicious local food. Prices are great as well because they have the local prices and the whole vibe is relaxed and you can enjoy tourist and locals passing by. They speak English as well to make it a bit more easier for you. Just check it out for yourself and enjoy the food.

Onederz hostel

One of my favorite places to stay while I was traveling through South East Asia and the best thing ever is that it is a chain so in every big city you can find one. Don't even know where to start but the beds are really comfortable and clean and the rooms are a descent size and cleaned every single day. There are multiple bathrooms on every floor and every hostel has at least one swimming pool except the one on Koh Rong Sanloem. They have a wide range of food that is also very affordable and delicious and most of the staff speaks fluent English and is willing to help you with everything. You can rent your scooter here, buy your bus ticket but you can also already book your stay for any of the other Onederz hostels. Booking a tour to different sightseeing places is possible from the reception desk and it is really close to the city centre. The price for one night in a dorm is 5 USD.
